yes she practices a Japanese art, but Rousey has great kung fu (skill developed over time through hard work). Also, she has chong, lao and yi (forward energy, flow, shapes). 7 wins by 7 armbars out of 7 fights= good kung fu.
Yi long the “Shaolin Warrior Monk” started training in Henan’s Shaolin temples from a very young age. As an accomplished martial artist, he set out to show the world that the techniques he has learnt since childhood is effective in the ring. He did just that by joining Wu Lin Feng, where he exploded on to the local Chinese fight scene and becomes one of the most recognized fighters in China and internationally. Yi Long’s fighting style is just as deadly as it is very flashy and entertaining.
We teach Shaolin Hek Ki Boen; Qi Gong, (Internal Health) and San Shou, (Free Fighting). Our training process is referred to as the “Shaolin Halls” method that was developed by Grandmaster Benny Meng. We teach our students in the same manner that was taught in the Southern Shaolin Temple over 350 years ago.
